Today I am thankful for geeky surprises

Today I got this little guy in the mail. If you have seen Guardians of the Galaxy you probably know who he is. The lovable tree creature Groot. Todd thought it would be cute to surprise me with him.

If you haven't seen Guardians of the Galaxy yet I highly recommend you do so. It's a great movie. The first time I heard of the guardians I was watching Ultimate Spider-Man on Netflix (yes I watch "children's" shows) so I'm not a die hard fan, BUT I love their story and the recent film.

Today I am thankful for simple beauty

A few weeks ago I won a giveaway on Style Me Pretty for the premier issue of Dasherie Magazine. A magazine that focuses on calligraphy and design.

I got the issue in the mail yesterday. It came in a cellophane bag with a beautiful gold sticker on the front and lovely stamps. The cover and the inside were just as beautiful. Images of flowers, art, and flowing letters covering the pages. What's not to love.

Today I am Thankful for the Offbeat Bride Tribe

The Offbeat Bride Tribe is full of such lovely and amazing people that are so creative and supportive. I just recently joined but I have seen so much love and advice already.

Todd and I are currently legally married but we never got to have the wedding we really wanted so we are planning one for the Spring of 2015. The OBB Tribe is helping me with that. I can vent, ask for advice, etc and the lovely members help anyway they can.

If you are planning a wedding I highly recommend checking it out!

Today I am thankful for Photoshop

I just finished making this Save the Date card for Todd and I's wedding (technically we are already married but we never had a full ceremony/reception)

Thanks to Photoshop, free fonts, and inspiration from ahandcraftedwedding.com, I was able to make this lovely Save the Date card to either email or print out.
We aren't FULLY sure of the date yet but the 16th of May is the closest Saturday to the date we originally wanted (It also happens to be Todd's 31st birthday).

I made this Save the Date to match the free invitation template available from ahandcraftedwedding. Visit her site to learn more!

Did I mention in my last post that Moody's has a gift shop? Because they do. I know I live here now but sometimes I still feel like a tourist, hence the Bat Maine sticker below. As for the above picture...it's true. I am pretty crabby in the mornings.

Today I am thankful for Moody's Diner and Coffee

My husband Todd and I live somewhat near Moody's. It's been around for quite some time (since 1927 according to this mug) so they obviously sell good food and coffee. Remember when I said my bug zapper was my best friend? Well I lied because coffee has been my #1 for years. I always have about 4-6 different types of coffee in the house at a time, and I know you are probably thinking "won't the coffee be less fresh if you have so much of it laying around over time?" and they answer is no. Believe me...In this house it goes pretty fast.
I have a Keurig brewer, a french press, and a regular brewer. I used to have a stove top espresso maker or "moka pot" and an actual espresso machine but neither one worked very well so they are no longer with me. (Anyone know of a good CHEAP espresso maker?) Not only do I own lots of brewers, I also own a milk frother, coffee grinder, and about 8 thousand coffee mugs...Yeah, I obviously have a problem.
I am so so thankful for coffee. Iced, hot, blended, etc. It's all perfect to me.
